India Projects Fund sends St. Mary’s Social Services Association, Tiruhcirapalli, India grant of $10,000.
India Projects Fund , following the request of an anonymous donor, sent $10,000.00 to St. Mary’s Social Services organization through The Catholic Foundation of Denver in Febuary of 2008. The monies were utilized by this organization to aid the poor – specifically those living in slum like conditions, children of poor fisherman, unemployed poor women, and elderly. Distributions included , school aid for poor children, unemployment craft training for women, health screenings and eye camps for the poor and elderly including cataract surgery, clothing, repair of fisherman boats, disaster aid in the form of food and clothing etc. St. Mary’s Social Services Association is registered in the state of Tamil Nadu and provides assistance and aid to the community and surrounding villages.
Following receipt and disbursement of these funds, St. Mary’s prepared a 42 page report for The Catholic Foundation, indicating where the funds were used and the recipients. This report included not only data and extensive narrative but many pictures as well. |
