Endowment Fund Structure
The concept of creating an ongoing and perpetual funding of the projects presented to Fr. Herman whose purpose is to assist the poor in India, was generated through the advice of an advisory council that meets regularly with Father to assess the most practical way to accomplish the many objectives of these projects. One of the council members, and a past parishioner of Father's, Anthony Pisani, suggested an endowment vehicle would be the most effective means to provide funding for the many project submissions which Father regularly receives from India. It also provides a permanent structure for ongoing assistance to the Church in India.

Once the framework for the endowment was conceived, Father and Ralph Lidge, another advisory council member, met with the then President of The Catholic Foundation, Nancy A. Walla. Nancy was extremely helpful and encouraging in discussing the possibility of a distinctive endowment for Father's India Projects. Not long after this meeting, the Fund was established.
The current president of Catholic Foundation - John Dolan- has been a strong proponent of the Fund and its purpose and has been very helpful in the presentation of this Fund to the public. |
